The flamboyant footballer could count 3.194 million fans on his social network site on Wednesday, putting him ahead of Swiss tennis star Roger Federer with 3.18 million and US swimmer Michael Phelps, 2.86 million.

AS reported that Cristiano Ronaldo draws 70 million pounds a year in personal endorsements. Even at that, his management turns down 90% of the offers that come his way. Recently Ronaldo turned down a 3 million pound pay day to promote a property development because it conflicted with Real Madrid training. I guess it’s nice to hear that he has his priorities in order.

All this is phenomenal news for Real Madrid though. I don’t just mean from a promotional standpoint either. As part of his move to Real Madrid he shares 50% of all personal endorsement earnings. Now that is a sweet deal!
